Our Story
Nurtured Knowledge was created with a desire to do education differently. After years of working with students in classrooms, homeschool settings, and one-on-one, it became clear that many children were capable—but not being taught in ways that truly supported them.
At the same time, many families were left trying to navigate complex education options without clear guidance.
Nurtured Knowledge was built to bridge that gap—providing personalized academic support for students and clear, practical direction for families, so every child has the opportunity to succeed.
Meet the Owner
April Polynice is a homeschool mom turned K–6 educator with a passion for helping children learn in ways that truly work for them. She began by homeschooling her own children, later teaching co-op classes, leading a school pod during the pandemic, and serving on the founding team of a microschool for five years. She is currently teaching 5th graders at a local charter school.
With a background that also includes coaching cheerleading and over a decade of leading children’s ministry, April brings both leadership and heart into her work with students and families. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and has a deep appreciation for Montessori-inspired learning.
As a homesteader and hands-on educator, she values practical, real-world learning alongside strong academic foundations. Through Nurtured Knowledge, April is committed to helping students grow in confidence and ability while guiding families to make informed, meaningful educational choices.
Why Nurtured Knowledge began
Nurtured Knowledge was created after years of working with students who were capable but not being taught in ways that worked for them. I saw gaps in both academic support and parent guidance. In Florida especially, many families feel overwhelmed by educational options and scholarships.
Nurtured Knowledge was built to support students academically while also helping families make informed, confident decisions about their child’s education. We believe every student deserves a path to success.
Our unique approach to learning
Nurtured Knowledge focuses on individualized learning, not one-size-fits-all tutoring. We identify learning gaps, strengthen foundational skills, and build real understanding. We stand out by also offering consulting services while helping families navigate Florida’s education options, including scholarships and homeschool pathways.
This comprehensive approach ensures both academic progress for students and clarity for parents, making the educational journey smoother and more successful.
Who we help
We serve students who are struggling with reading, comprehension, math or confidence, as well as homeschooling families who need support or structure. We also work with parents who feel overwhelmed by Florida’s education system and want guidance on their options and available scholarships.
